Esthetics Curriculum
A Privai Esthetics Institute graduate will be confident in their knowledge and ability to analyze the skin and provide their clients with professional corrections to skincare challenges that include homecare, hands-on care and the chance to help that person feel beautiful inside and out.
Our program is approved by the North Carolina State Board of Cosemtic Art Examiners. School # 324.
Advanced level education will include:

Course Descriptions
Beginner Level 1
- Lecture 1 introduces students to the skincare industry. Concepts, theory and application of sanitation, hygiene, chemistry, electricity, anatomy, physiology and histology, skin analysis, disorders and diseases, and color theory will be covered to provide a foundation for clinical applications. Basic Spa Business Operations are introduced.
- Clinic 1 introduces students to the setup, performance and cleanup of a European facial and all associated elements. Students will practice facials, makeup application and hair removal techniques on each other while building the confidence to transition to working on public clients, while maintaining consistent sanitation guidelines.
Advanced Level 2
- Lecture 2 continues with Cosmetic Chemistry and product ingredients. Incorporating machines into the European facial and additional massage techniques are covered. Spa business operations continue including product cost analysis, and budget devolvement and management. Advanced Esthetic topics, retailing, homecare and career planning are discussed and practiced. Lecture 2 will also prepare the student for the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Arts written exam.
- Clinic 2 will prepare the student for the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Arts practical exam. Practical applications of electrical modalities and machines, body wraps, advanced exfoliation and facial techniques are incorporated as students provide skin care services to the public.
